My paper submitted to the Diaspora forum urged consolidating on the work already done by various Diaspora groups. Perhaps you could work in Florida on getting your database accepted as the common starting point and see if others would either work from that model or follow your lead.

We do share some of the same thoughts. I agree with you when you raise the question of who will be responsible for each area or goal that was highlighted. I blogged about this recetly as well.

The issue of a database of skilled Caribbean diaspora seems to be coming up all over the place. Each time I hear this I point out that some level of database already exists that can be used as a starting point. For examaple, www.caribbeanbusinesscommunity.com is one such database that can solve that problem. But are various groups willing to use it or will they get caught up with creating their own.......

I also appreciate your argument about political importance to Washington. And that is why I think the Diapora is best served gaining some political momentum in the US so that Washington will take notice due to the importance of our vote............

Have more to say but will communicate with you offline in this regard.

PS Saw your comment on the magazine........... you are right. It does need to expand to reach an advanced level of effectiveness. Working on that but classic problem of fund come to the fore (where have we heard that before).
